Position: Senior Mechanical Designer

Summary:

The Mechanical Designer creates designs and technical documentation for mechanical devises and equipment.  Ideal candidate will have experience with industrial automated equipment, gear reduction, servo and VFD drives, etc. Works well independently and with a team.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

*Autodesk Inventor experience (or similar)

*AutoCad, Macros, Visual Basic, and Excel skills desirable

Duties include but are not limited to:

*Customer interaction to help establish machinery requirements and determining automated processes

*Traveling to customer facilities to discuss and understand manufacturing process and concepts

*Design and manage complete machine assemblies while maintaining company design procedures

*Delivering design presentations with both internal and customer teams to ensure all requirements are satisfied

*Tracking design progress of multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously, and ensuring design consistency

*Creation of documentation for the machine build process

*Interaction and cooperation with other departments. (Machining, Welding, Purchasing, Assembly)

Position: Entry Tech Machine Assembler                                                   

Reports to: Assembly Lead

Our Customer is the Domestic Leader in Window, Door & IG Automated Assembly Equipment.  They are well known for developing ideas and leading industry trends.

Summary:

We are looking for mechanically inclined individuals with a desire to learn who thrive in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of mechanical aptitude but does not require specific skills.

 Responsibilities & Requirements:

·         Assist Machine Builder and Assembly Team Leads with the assembly process of machines.

·         Possesses a sense of pride in their work

·         Ability to interface with a variety of plant team members from different disciplines

·         Willingness to accept a challenge and inclined to take initiative

·         In this role, Machine Builders will utilize hand and power tools to assemble machines based on drawings, specifications,              and electrical schematics

·         The assemblies are custom and vary by size based on the project’s needs

·         Verify that all parts are available for assembly.

·         Drill and tap holes.

·         Assembles component parts to machine frame.

·         Insert sub-assemblies into main frame.

·         Learn to run cables, and hoses neatly through cable tray and raceways.

·         Problem solving and troubleshooting

·         Test the assembled machines to ensure they are functioning properly and are of good quality

·         Comply with workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and procedures

·         Report any machine or plant safety concerns to a Production Manager, Production Supervisor, or Team Lead.

·         Ensure that the assembly floor area remains well organized and free of clutter.

·         Maintain tools and the workspace in good condition

·         May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned

Duties include but are not limited to:

·         Must have high degree of mechanical aptitude but does not require specific skills.

·         Continuous standing, grasping and carrying, frequent walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting and lifting for                       extended periods.

·         Visual ability to read prints and visually inspect: peripheral vision to avoid moving equipment.

·         Hearing ability to monitor machine sounds and communicate safety instructions with assembly team.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Engineer to work with multi-disciplinary teams on State, Local Government, and private projects, primarily in the transportation arena.

Bridge Engineers play an essential role in the design and construction of successful, high quality bridge projects across Minnesota. They perform intricate calculations, sophisticated designs, and important construction and safety inspections for bridges.

Responsibilities may include:

·         Bridge and hydraulic design

·         Preparation of plans, drawings, and specifications for bridge construction or repair

·         Performing load ratings and other calculations

·         Construction and safety inspections

POSITION OVERVIEW – CIVIL ENGINEER (PE)

The Civil Engineer plays a key role in the successful execution of projects. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this individual will provide technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our clients. The Engineer is responsible for a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and managed – both externally and internally. The successful candidate will also contribute to a dynamic team environment by being proactive, communicating clearly and frequently, and modeling a highly collaborative working environment.

 

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The design of civil engineering systems as follows: grading, storm water runoff, pavement surfaces, retention and detention ponding, construction details, miscellaneous details, their coordination with other disciplines and the communication of the design to the contractors who will construct the project.

Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

·         Serves as lead civil engineer for projects to ensure that proper system design is incorporated into projects through quality control.

·         Certify civil engineering documents for projects and assume overall responsibility for the quality of the contract documents.

·         Design and layout civil engineering systems to include grading, storm water runoff, etc. and equipment.

·         Selects civil engineering equipment and assures that the client approves all systems and equipment.

·         Perform calculations for sizing and dimensioning civil engineering systems for the project.

·         Review and edit the master civil engineering technical specifications to ensure the requirements of the project are described.

·         Check and approve civil engineering shop drawings for conformance to the requirements of the project documents.

·         Incorporate department and industry standards and applicable codes into design and layout of civil engineering systems.

·         Provide site observations and issue observation reports of civil engineering systems during the construction phase and attend construction meetings.

·         Perform substantial completion, follow-up, and final punchlist reports of civil engineering systems.

·         Represent the civil engineering discipline at project meetings.

·         Liaison with client and client representative to incorporate client design standards and to communicate civil engineering system design.

·         Coordinate civil engineering designs with other disciplines and consultants to ensure a quality project.

·         Performs budgeting and cost estimating of civil engineering systems for projects.

·         Performs such other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

  • Basic understanding of Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, Landscape, and Structural Engineering construction practices.
  • Develops estimates for assigned scope of work, and is accountable for ensuring we stay within scope.
  • Will serve as project manager for complete projects, overseeing a project team.
  • Support the business development process through input to proposals, meeting and presenting to prospective customers, etc.
  • Provides work direction to other team members, including subcontractors, as assigned.
  • Approves final equipment selections and drawing submittals.
  • Provides technical and engineering support to other departments/disciplines.
  • Construction administration- leading and attending meetings, reviewing change orders, responding to RFI’s.

EDUCATION

Bachelors’ degree and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is required. Professional Engineering Registration in Minnesota and a willingness to pursue this designation in other states is also required. 5-15+ years of experience preferred.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create detailed shop approval drawings for various fixtures including wall displays, bar tops, cabinets, trim, etc.
  • Preparation of material orders (BOM) as required.
  • Adhere to industry and company CAD standards, have a growth mindset to share best practices.
  • Organize and maintain AutoCAD files, collaborate with team members on organizational methods for team consistency.
  • Source materials as requested
  • Interact with account managers, designers, architects, and other customer agents as required to complete design and drawing work.
  • Participate with fellow drafters in the CAD reviewal process.
  • Perform field measurements or site visits meeting with customers as needed.
  • Work closely with production staff to update drawings based on their recommendations surrounding build methodology.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Knowledge of cabinet construction and basic woodworking skills a plus!
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and prints.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Dedicated, well organized, able to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
