Mechanical Drafters/Designers (HVAC, Plumbing, Piping)
Will prepare plans for material handling, process ventilation and building safety systems, process, and utility piping and heat exchangers, and building HVAC and plumbing systems for agribusiness, industrial, and commercial facilities.
Drafting Technician
Our customer provides engineering and design services for commercial projects in a variety of markets including retail, corporate, hospitality, government, and manufacturing. Projects are focused on Agribusiness/Industrial work, which includes expansions, retrofits and new facility design for a variety projects ranging from distribution centers, food processing plants and chemical manufacturing facilities to feed mills and export terminals.
Responsibilities:
Layout plans, sections and details to specified CAD standards.
Identify redlines on drawings created by others and accurately make required changes.
Coordinate plotter maintenance and project archiving as requested.
Occasional travel to construction job sites.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher OR at least one year of directly related experience
Designer – Construction Projects

Additional Designer Responsibilities:
Provide direction and distribute work to Technicians.
Review and back-check Technician’s work.
Coordinate with design team members and product vendors.
Communicate with clients and/or contractors regarding RFI’s and field questions.
Maintain awareness of fees and drafting time, understand project scope and identify potential additional service items.
Review shop drawings.
Attend internal coordination meetings and client coordination meetings as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher and at least three years of directly related experience OR at least four years of directly related experience
Electrical Designer Opportunity
Summary:
Apply practical knowledge to support the design and manufacture of power distribution and control systems, panelboards, industrial control cabinets, and equipment shelters, primarily through the development of detailed electrical and mechanical drawings.
Specific Duties Include:
- Work in conjunction with electrical design engineers on projects from conceptual design through manufacture and startup.
- Utilizing CAD and other software programs, design and develop submittal drawings, detailed design drawings, bills of material, mechanical detail drawings, shop drawings, busbar layouts, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, one and three line drawings, and wire lists based on electrical design engineers’ drawings and sketches and/or customers’ specifications and all applicable codes and regulations.
- Develop material requirements and purchase requisitions for jobs.
- Communicate with electrical design engineers, project managers, manufacturing supervisors, vendors, and customers to provide updates, answer any electrical or mechanical questions, or resolve any issues that arise during project build.
- Inspect jobs when complete for compliance with all applicable standards.
- Provide in‐house functional checkout of equipment prior to shipment.
- Provide field service support, including on‐site startup assistance, field verifications for retrofit applications, as‐built documentation, and installation supervision, when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.

Mechanical Designer Opportunity
Summary:
Apply practical knowledge to support the design and manufacture of a variety of products (lighting cabinets, panelboards, switchboards, switchgear, control panels, precision fabricated metal parts, etc.). Develop detailed mechanical drawings and programming of machinery. Keep a working knowledge of fabrication methods, machinery, and programming software to improve products and processes. This is a full‐time hourly position.
Specific Duties Include:
- Develop/create detailed part drawings based on CAD drawings, customer drawings, and/or verbal instructions.
- Create, edit, and keep up‐to‐date CAD drawings and material/part lists.
- Assist in the design of equipment from the ground up utilizing 3D modeling software to meet customer’s requirements while adhering to latest codes and standards.
- Maintain working knowledge of laser, turret, press brakes, etc. and associated machine programming software to aide in product improvement.
- Assist/develop/create machine programs based on CAD drawings.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with shop employees to promote feedback to drive product improvement.
- Projects a positive, professional image of the company in all communications with customers, vendors and suppliers.
- Make recommendations to management on manufacturing processes to promote lean manufacturing.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) software is required.
- Experience in sheet metal manufacturing and design concepts.
- Ability to pass a background and drug test prior to employment.
- Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish daily tasks.
- Superior problem solving, project management and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently making sound design decisions for a week at a time.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
- This position requires the ability to sit, and bend or stand for extended periods of time.
- Performance of duties will mostly be in the office.
