Architectural Design Manager
Architectural Design Manager Position Mission: Provide guidance and expertise to ensure franchisees develop the best club possible while supporting the business model and maintaining Anytime Fitness standards.
• Coach, guide and direct franchisees through the design development of new clubs as well as remodels and upgrades of existing clubs, including, but not limited to:o Working with franchisee to collect as-built drawings and existing condition datao Create club specific designs utilizing external and internal partnerso Provide franchisees with guidance on construction related issues and topics.O Subject matter expert for design issues.• Provide department/project communication to internal departments as well as external partners.• Subject matter expert for internal departments.• Administrative duties and support.• Develop and maintain organizational design standards.
A two-year associate/technical degree and/or 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in multi-unit, consumer based construction and design preferred.
• Experience in multi-unit development; e.g. fitness clubs, restaurants, retail, etc. is preferred• Must be able to read and comprehend construction drawings.• General knowledge of commercial development, construction methodologies including mechanical, electrical and plumbing. • Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals of differing knowledge levels (vendors, contractors, operations, corporate staff, etc.) Good verbal and written communication skills are required.• Able to take direction from multiple sources and follow through multi-step project steps/procedures consistently.• General understanding of building codes, permitting and entitlements.• Experience in handling construction administration and accounting is a plus; e.g. processing of construction lien waivers, the collection of Landlord contributions, construction bidding, issuance of contracts, etc.• Must be highly motivated, able to prioritize multiple tasks, organize work to meet deadlines and multiple requests, and possess well-developed negotiation skills.• Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner.• Good time management skills.• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
Miscellaneous Metals Drafter/Detailer Miscellaneous
Metals Drafter/Detailer Opening for a seasoned Tekla Designer / Drafter at Astro Engineering and Manufacturing, a custom metal fabrication shop located in Hanover, MN.
Must be proficient in Tekla for modeling and detailing of projects for miscellaneous metals in construction.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):• Transform an initial product concept or work off Architectural dwgs to create 3D models using Tekla.• Create manufacturing working drawings from 3D models which include dimensions, isometric, and exploded views along with information required to manufacture.• Detailing Stairs, handrail, miscellaneous metals & ornamental metals Comply with all applicable codes and contract specifications.• Create Approval, Fabrication, Erection drawings and Bill of Materials for misc. metal projects.• Modifies existing designs based on Project Manager requirements.• Processes ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices) and update documentation.• check/redline the work of other Steel Detailers.• Work within engineering team to prepare jobs for shop releaseEducation: Associate Degree in Drafting or a related field of engineering.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Must be proficient in Tekla
• Must be familiar with manufacturing processes related to machining, sheet metal, and welding.• Must be proficient in designing parts, weldments, and sheet metal parts.• Must have strong attention to detail, and organizational skills, working in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.• Must have strong basic computer skills and a competent level of experience in MS Word and Excel.• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and work well in a team environment.• Must have mechanical aptitude for how industrial / architectural products are assembled.• Good verbal and written communication skills and must have strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude.• Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.• Work with project Engineers and Architects to interpret/resolve design issues.• Work closely with Fabrication to interpret/resolve layout and/or detail issues.• Perform field measurements to translate into custom layouts and fabrication drawings, as required.
Looking for a Lead Drafter that can effectively run our drafting department. We are using / implementing Auto Desk Inventor and RouterCim and this person would need to be able to push this software to its effective capabilities. We are a wood and metal shop and all things need to come
The Project Designer position provides a unique opportunity to see customer projects go from design, to fabrication, and finally to end delivery and install. You will be designing high-end retail fixtures using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, participating in design reviews and revisions, and coordinating with the client to get answers needed to complete a project. Our ideal candidate has a passion for design, cabinet and furniture making, and has a honed attention to detail. They are hands on and interested in being involved in all facets of our manufacturing process. They have good customer service skills and aren’t afraid to search for answers. They have apt problem solving skills with further ability to implement their ideas. Bonus points for those who are always looking for ways to improve and automate new and existing processes.
o Will report directly to the Engineering Department Head on all Engineering Department issues; I.E.: Department Workload, Personnel issues, Department expenditures and etc.
o Will coordinate own workload with all Engineering/Drafting Department
o Creates accurate models of customer parts and assemblies in a given amount of time using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
o Assists in maintaining and updating drawing files.
o Researches and maintains material and hardware libraries.
o Accurately creates drawing BOMs.
o Creates accurate toolpaths and G-code programs for the company’s CNC routers and machining center.
o Creates detailed part drawings for the operators at the CNC routers.
o Assists with the engineering of our products.
o Communicates effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing.
o Follows procedures in company handbook and other documents.
o Demonstrates a professional attitude when approaching work assignments.
o Displays a sense of urgency toward completing assigned tasks on time.
o Assists in developing timely solutions to problems.
o Reads and interprets complex drawings.
o Possesses good computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office products) and is able to learn new skills as needed.

• OTHER DUTIES
o Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Department Head and/or company President, this may include working in the shop. Attend assigned meetings prepared to discuss current projects, schedules, and work load.
o Communicate with clients, sub-contractors, vendors, and internal staff to complete shop drawings in a timely and accurate manner.
o This position requires the ability to work with minimal work direction and requires above average communication skills. This positions requirements and duties will change often, sometimes on a daily basis. =
• DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
o Knowledge of materials and processes related to the company’s manufactured products.
o Cabinetry and/or architectural millwork experience desirable.
o Extremely detail oriented.
o Ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints.
o Ability to use common engineering measurement tools (i.e. caliper, micrometer, ruler) to accurately take measurements to the thousandths (.xxx) of an inch.
o Experience using AutoCAD.
o Experience using Inventor or equivalent.
o Exposure to 3D CAD automation options (i.e iParts, iFeatures, and iAssemblies)
o Experience using CAM software, such as MasterCAM, Router-CIM, etc.
o Experience using a CAD data management system such as Autodesk Vault or Solidworks PDM.
o Technical degree related to wood product manufacturing, engineering, CAD design, or CNC programming.
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in Architectural Drafting using AutoCad. Previous experience in architectural metal fabrication would be a plus. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret blue prints, and accurately calculate material takeoffs and estimates relative to the scope of work specified for each project, within the bid time frame. Develop and maintain positive communication with customers and suppliers. Must know AutoCad, Microsoft Office products, emphasis in Excel. Ability to manage multiple tasks, look at the big picture and work within that, with excellent follow up skills, both internally and externally.
