Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Controls Engineer oversees and leads the development of PLC and HMI programs for safe, effective, and efficient operation of company products and processes while meeting and exceeding company quality and production standards and customer documentation and delivery requirements. |
Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) |
· Design, develop, and oversee all aspects of programming of PLC’s, HMI’s, and remote I/O devices in a fast- paced, collaborative, manufacturing environment, and a project management structure to ensure workflow remains within schedule and budget requirements. · Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements and provide direction to other engineers and designers. · Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design and quality problems, and pursue continuous improvement of design and manufacturing and installation processes and methods. · Provide training, author documentation, procedures and work instructions to mentor and grow the technical competencies of engineering teams. · Support new product development initiatives by remaining up to date with new industry products, technologies and trends. · Preserve and grow strong relationships with company suppliers, manufacturers and vendors. · Provide onsite commercial and technical field support with up to 25% local regional trips to customers and suppliers, including a small number of occasional domestic trips, and rarely non-domestic flights. · Follow all housekeeping procedures and rules, comply with all quality and safety regulations. |

Studio Lead, Structural Engineering
Responsibilities
- Serves as a technical expert within the engineering team to plan the design process and solve problems of large scope and complexity
- Establishes, designs, and specifies project-appropriate engineering requirements
- Leads site investigations and observations
- Prepares narratives, reports, calculations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints
- Facilitates cross-discipline discussions and coordination
- Reviews engineering documents for quality and compliance with code and program requirements
- Participates in Construction Administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFI’s, solving construction issues, and performing site visits to assess general conformance with the design concept

- Performs marketing and business development activities including building relationship with key clients and strategic partners, proposal writing, fee estimates, and client interviews
- Travel for marketing and project-related activities will be required
Qualifications
- 10+ years licensed experience /3+ years team management
- ABET-accredited degree in Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer required
General Characteristics
- Assists Project Managers with fee development for engineering portions of work
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of codes and related industry standards
- Production experience preparing deliverable drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD required.

Salary range for this position varies between $95,000 – $145,000, depending upon applicable experience.
Senior Project Engineer, Structural
Responsibilities
- Performs overall engineering design and engineering tasks having a high degree of complexity.
- Prepare design documents for structural systems, including calculations, drawings and structural specifications.
- Review preliminary and final plans and specifications for constructability and risk management
- Supervise the work of other Structural Engineers, Structural EITs and Technicians assigned to applicable projects; serve as a mentor for less experienced/developing Structural Engineers and Technicians
- Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments within the local office and/or other corporate location; serve as a liaison between clients and design team
- Evaluate structural assets against potential threat levels and conceptualize initial structural design approach for projects. Perform design calculations for blast and ballistic protection based on Charge Weights and Level of Protection. Experience with Federal (including but not limited to Department of Defense, VA, GSA) projects is greatly desired.
- Experience with Progressive Collapse Analysis is greatly desired.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing work for Structural project teams
- Ability to successfully complete projects on time and on budget
- Assist with other duties assigned by Project Managers and Structural Engineering Studio Lead
- Act as a mentor for discipline personnel by providing continuous assistance and support through professional training and career development

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree or other advanced education is preferred
- Professional Registration as a Structural Engineer
- 8+ years experience in engineering of building systems design (pay commensurate with years in service)
- Current affiliation and/or membership with local, state, or national industry organization(s)
