 Logistics, Shipping, and Receiving Manager

 Coordinate the receipts and shipment of goods and services according to the production plan. Develop and navigate a systematic freight plan to manage inventory, move goods within the organization as well as to, and from, our customers and vendors.

 SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general supervision of the Supply Chain Manager.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

Supervise warehouse and shipping related personnel.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Develop and implement shipping and logistics strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery across all company divisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement goals with overall business objectives.
  • Create, document and manage an international logistics process.
  • Reviewing shipping documentation to ensure compliance with company standards and federal regulations.
  • Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries.
  • Ensuring the accurate recording of warehouse inventory in computer systems and completing inventory audits.
  • Analyze pricing trends, negotiate favorable terms, and reduce freight costs.
  • Mitigate freight risks through contingency planning.
  • Continuously assess and enhance shipping & receiving processes.
  • Identify areas for efficiency gains and implement best practices.
  • Ensure accurate shipping manifests for each outbound truck.
  • Maintain a systematic method of organizing equipment in the yards.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate receiving and inventory practices across the organization.
  • Maintaining safety standards.

 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Leads by example and motivates people to create a challenging, empowering, and collaborative working environment.
  • Financial skills including cost modeling, cost analysis, etc.
  • Exhibit strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, management and vendors/partners.
  • Travel as needed – minimal.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Shipping/receiving and logistics experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years progressive experience in management of shipping/receiving and logistics
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment as it relates to the department (ECi M1 or Epicor preferred).
  • APICS certifications a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills. Strong negotiation and organization skills.
  • Leadership/supervisory experience.
