Seeking Millwork Draftsman
The  preferred candidate will have 1-5 years of experience with AutoCAD and a millwork or construction background.

Position Purpose and Description:
Millwork Draftsman Requirements/Qualifications:
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Solid Works (minimum 2 years experience).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural millwork drawings
• Prior experience as a draftsman in cabinetry, millwork, or a similar discipline
• Prior experience with commercial architectural millwork and casework
• Prior experience in a cabinet or millwork shop
• Working knowledge and understanding of cabinetry fabrication workflow
• Working knowledge, understanding of drafting and the layout of projects and millwork
• Knowledge of AWI Quality Standards Preferred
• Ability to operate and program CNC machinery is a plus
• Ability to create workable shop drawings (CAD) from concept drawings provided by the
client including:
Shop cut bills/bill of material lists
Identify and source materials and working with vendors.

• Great attention to detail and organization

Millwork Draftsman Duties:
• Design and engineer architectural elements, (millwork, casework, furniture and fixtures) to meet
customer project expectations and requirements
• Work with the customer’s agents (project managers, architects, buyers, etc…) to understand project
needs and create shop drawings for customer approval.
• Create shop drawings for use in fabrication
• Identify potential design and cost issues that must be solved proactively prior to fabrication.
• Identify opportunities to engineer out costs and provide alternative solutions.
• Create cut bills and work instructions for use on the shop floor
• Identify and source product
• Willingness to work on the production floor as needed.

The Project Designer position provides a unique opportunity to see customer projects go from design, to fabrication, and finally to end delivery and install. You will be designing high-end retail fixtures using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, participating in design reviews and revisions, and coordinating with the client to get answers needed to complete a project. Our ideal candidate has a passion for design, cabinet and furniture making, and has a honed attention to detail.  They are hands on and interested in being involved in all facets of our manufacturing process. They have good customer service skills and aren’t afraid to search for answers. They have apt problem solving skills with further ability to implement their ideas. Bonus points for those who are always looking for ways to improve and automate new and existing processes.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

• REPORTING
o Will report directly to the Engineering Department Head on all Engineering Department issues; I.E.: Department Workload, Personnel issues, Department expenditures and etc.
• WORKLOAD
o Will coordinate own workload with all Engineering/Drafting Department
• RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Creates accurate models of customer parts and assemblies in a given amount of time using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
o Assists in maintaining and updating drawing files.
o Researches and maintains material and hardware libraries.
o Accurately creates drawing BOMs.
o Creates accurate toolpaths and G-code programs for the company’s CNC routers and machining center.
o Creates detailed part drawings for the operators at the CNC routers.
o Assists with the engineering of our products.
o Communicates effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing.
o Follows procedures in company handbook and other documents.
o Demonstrates a professional attitude when approaching work assignments.
o Displays a sense of urgency toward completing assigned tasks on time.
o Assists in developing timely solutions to problems.
o Reads and interprets complex drawings.
o Possesses good computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office products) and is able to learn new skills as needed.
o Manages multiple priorities in an organized fashion.
o Works at a computer for long periods of time.
• OTHER DUTIES
o Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Department Head and/or company President, this may include working in the shop.  Attend assigned meetings prepared to discuss current projects, schedules, and work load.
o Communicate with clients, sub-contractors, vendors, and internal staff to complete shop drawings in a timely and accurate manner.
• GENERAL
o This position requires the ability to work with minimal work direction and requires above average communication skills.  This positions requirements and duties will change often, sometimes on a daily basis.  =

• DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
o Knowledge of materials and processes related to the company’s manufactured products.
o Cabinetry and/or architectural millwork experience desirable.
o Extremely detail oriented.
o Ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints.
o Ability to use common engineering measurement tools (i.e. caliper, micrometer, ruler) to accurately take measurements to the thousandths (.xxx) of an inch.
o Experience using AutoCAD.
o Experience using Inventor or equivalent.
o Exposure to 3D CAD automation options (i.e iParts, iFeatures, and iAssemblies)
o Experience using CAM software, such as MasterCAM, Router-CIM, etc.
o Experience using a CAD data management system such as Autodesk Vault or Solidworks PDM.
o Technical degree related to wood product manufacturing, engineering, CAD design, or CNC programming.
