Cabinet Drafter:
Drafting experience is required. Must know AutoCAD/Draft site and preferably Cabinet Vision.
– $20-$25/hour
– Monday-Thursday, 6-4:30. Overtime on Friday is possible.

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Designer III will support and design structures and bussing for switchgear, panel boards and electrical power distribution equipment for safe, effective, and efficient operation of company’s products and processes while meeting and exceeding company quality and production standards and customer documentation and delivery requirements.

- Ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years of design, or capable of designing mechanical structures and bussing for LV and MV switchgear assemblies, developing and implementing engineering standards, complying with applicable codes and customer specifications within a project management structure to ensure workflow remains within schedule and budget requirements.
- Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements and receive directions from mentors to create designs.
- Experience using, or the ability to design using 3D modeling SolidWorks mechanical tools and libraries.
- Improve the design process using standardized practices, tools and systems, improve the quality and productivity of the design and support process while reducing schedule and budget.
- Evaluate and design mechanical components and fabrication parts for bussing systems, switchgear, panelboards and control panels. Sheet metal fabrication experience desired.

Required Skills and Experience
- Ability to learn to support and design multi-phase and DC switchgear, switchboards, panelboards in accordance with customer’s functional requirements for LV and MV equipment.
- Support design for product assembly, manufacturing and testing.
- Support the creation of product and project quotes with sketches and concepts.
- Experience using, or the ability to learn Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using, or the ability to learn PDM, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3D design tools.

Our customer is an established custom steel fabrication shop in South Metro seeks an individual to use industry software to create and maintain a library of products and materials which, when optimized, generate e-files of cut bills for the manufacturing team. Solidworks, CAD, Revit software knowledge a plus.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- 3 years+ of experience in custom metal fabrication industry; AAS degree in drafting or related field highly desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read blueprints, interior design, and architectural & structural drawings
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a team
- Superior technical drafting capabilities
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic math & geometry

Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate hand-off meetings with Production team, when necessary
- Prioritize and organize to specific customer projects
- Obtain and assemble data to complete drawings, coordinating with customers
- Creates shop drawings from architectural drawings and specifications, designer sketches, or conceptual ideas
- Layout and plan technical drawings using industry
- Direct shop drawing corrections and changes; adjust shop drawings as necessary
- Create and maintain drawing log and drawing list
Provide technical support to the quotation process
Support procurement process by creating material lists and evaluating vendor quotes.
- Analyze technical implications and make recommendations for improvements related to safety, quality, efficiency & cost.
- Self-starter and ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects concurrently
- Provide excellent customer service and align all practices with organization objectives

Responsibilities:
Designs and specifies project appropriate architectural requirements.
Plans and develops projects of various sizes and works under supervision.
Manage internal team and consultant communication on the technical aspects of the project.
Investigates, evaluates, and recommends design solutions, prioritizes work, receives guidance on complex issues.
Performs Revit modeling and detailing with team.
Participates in cross-discipline discussions and coordination with multidisciplinary teammates.
Conducts site investigations and observations; travel for project-related activities may be required.
Prepares basic narratives, reports, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, regarding project schedule and budget constraints.
Participates in construction administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFI’s, working to solve construction issues, and performing site visits to assess general conformance with the design concept.
Assists with marketing and business development activities.
Coordinate the work of junior professionals and technicians; lead and participate in a Quality Assurance and Quality Control review.
Exercise independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques, working to solve problems when encountered, and receives guidance on complex projects.
Performs work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices uses advanced techniques.
Responsible for finished plans, specifications, or approval of materials and construction.
Confirms scope of work and contractual obligations with project manager.
Understands the project(s) scope and plans and develops concepts and approaches appropriate to the construction budget and the disciplines in carrying out the project work.
Follows the project plan and informs the project manager of obstacles.
Performs code analysis.
Qualifications:
5+years in AEC
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university
Architecture registration required.
Prior Aviation market experience preferred.
General Characteristics

Proficiency with computer software including Revit Architecture required
Working knowledge of Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite/Bluebeam preferred
