Position Summary
The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:
- Fostering relationships with existing clients, while cultivating new relationships to drive organizational growth and strength
- Leading and mentoring electrical engineers and electrical technicians
- Leading the process of responding to requests for proposals for professional engineering services from clients (internal and external)
- Interacting with project teams and clients to understand their needs and following through with design to meet their expectations
- Overseeing design and peer reviewing:
- Power one-line diagrams
- Power distribution interconnection and equipment sizing
- Lighting/photometrics, control, and low voltage systems design
- Short circuit and available fault current calculations
- Project specifications development
- Ensuring LHB QA/QC processes are followed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 10+ years’ experience in the design/construction industry
- Professional Engineer in MN or WI
- Knowledge of Electrical codes, standards, concepts, and design
- Ability to evaluate, plan, direct, manage, communicate, engage, and oversee projects with varying degrees of complexity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Staff supervision experience
- Leadership experience and/or aspirations

Structural Engineering
Not only does the Structural Engineering team help to safeguard the health and welfare of the general public, they also play a key role in helping valued clients achieve their goals by skillfully designing structural systems and foundations. Our project work occurs all over the world, including high-wind and seismically active locations.
Your role:
- Engineer new facilities, expansions and retrofits utilizing proven analytical skills, technical expertise and knowledge of code requirements
- Efficiently employ both software and manual calculations to develop innovative solutions that are to-code and constructable within project constraints
- Provide guidance and distribute work to technicians and engineers
- Prepare proposals and design documents; help estimate project fees
- Generate preliminary concepts and effectively communicate your approach
A Senior Engineer will also:
- Manage client relationships and serve as primary technical client contact on projects
- Set standards for technical excellence and efficiency through sound engineering judgment, effective problem-solving, as well as thorough engineering analysis, design and detailing
- Supervise, mentor and train engineers and technical staff to produce high-quality services and deliverables
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets and billing for individual projects while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Conduct technical document reviews
- Perform site observations/evaluations (potential for 25% travel to construction sites)

Electrical Engineering
Our Electrical team is focused on the design of electrical power systems for industrial facilities; ethanol, specialty chemical, grain handling and feed mills. We are also designing green energy solutions (solar) for municipal and industrial clients as they grow their renewable energy portfolios. Analytical services for new and existing power systems include load flow studies, short circuit analysis, arc flash risk assessment, and power factor correction.
Your role:
- Perform high quality engineering services.
- Assist with the preparation of high-quality construction documentation including calculations, drawings and specifications.
- Perform construction phase site observations on job sites and produce site observation reports as required. (Potential 5% travel to construction job sites.)
- Efficiently use appropriate software to complete engineering design.
- Manage time based on project budget and schedule.
- Communicate with clients/contractors regarding RFI’s and field questions, as requested.
Your resume must include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in design and construction OR P.E license
- Experience with electrical system studies (SKM or ETAP.)
- Proficient with any of the following software (Revit, Bluebeam, Navisworks and AutoCAD.)
- PV design experience (preferred.)
Summary:
Design and engineer a variety of electrical products (lighting cabinets, panelboards, switchboards, switchgear, control panels, etc.) that integrate new and existing hardware/software for complete and functional operation. Field measure and repair customer’s equipment as required. Keeping a working knowledge of companies fabrication methods, machinery, and programming software to improve products and processes.
This is a full-time salaried position.
Specific Duties Include:
· Reviews project specifications, plans, and requirements to assist sales in the preparation of quotations conveying price, delivery and technical information to customers.
· Ensure that processes, construction, installation, and operational requirements meet specifications, codes, and end-user expectations.
· Design equipment from the ground up utilizing 3D modeling software to meet customer’s requirements while adhering to latest codes and standards.
· Maintain working knowledge of companies laser, turret, press brakes, etc. and associated machine programming software to aide in product improvement.
· Travel (occasionally overnight and off-hours) as required to support field measurements and maintenance of equipment (approximately 5% of the time).
· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with shop employees to promote feedback to drive product improvement.
· Projects a positive, professional image of the company in all communications with customers, vendors and suppliers.
· Stays current with product updates and code changes.
· Make recommendations to management on manufacturing processes to promote lean manufacturing.
· Other duties as assigned by Management.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years’ experience or Electrical System Design expert with 5+ years’ experience.
· Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) software is required.
· Understanding of 3-phase power systems is preferred.
· Understanding of low voltage and/or medium voltage electrical equipment is preferred.
· Experience in sheet metal manufacturing and electrical equipment design.
· Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish daily tasks.
· Superior problem solving, project management and analytical skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently making sound design/engineering decisions for weeks at a time.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
· This position requires the ability to sit, and bend or stand for extended periods of time.
· Performance of duties will mostly be in the office. Travel as required (approximately 5% of the time).
· Initial 3‐6 months of this position will require working in a shop setting fabricating and assembling equipment. During this time, you must be able to sit, kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl. Also will require the ability to move and/or lift objects up to 50 pounds.
