Tool and Die Maker
Position Summary
Understand the tool building processes from specifications such as noted in blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts. Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits
and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges,
and machinists’ hand tools.

To assist production team to assure the timely completion of a quality product and to meet all quality standards and customer specifications.

Level 3
23. Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and has skill to recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
24. Assist in the decision-making process of future machine and tooling purchases.
25. Assist design in selecting select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance.
26. Assists designer/engineers to Develop and design new tools and dies,
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
• Requires education generally equivalent to a 2 year Technical Degree.
• Requires 2+ years of machinist experience.
• Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform geometric algebraic and trig calculations.
• Must perform metric conversions.
• Requires good English oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications and routings.
• Workstation Computer/PC experience or demonstrated knowledge.
Job Title: Estimator Job
Location: Saint Paul, MN
Regional Supplier of fabricated structural steel, misc. metals, steel joist and steel decks is currently seeking an experienced Structural Steel or Miscellaneous Metals Estimator to join our team.
About the role: This position is responsible for taking design drawings and documents available for bidding and using analytic software to estimate the costs of the structural steel and miscellaneous metals for construction projects.
What you’ll do:
• Analyze blueprints and other design documents (Architectural and Structural construction documents/drawings, along with Specifications) to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Using phone or email to interact with customers and coworkers to plan takeoffs, as well as design professionals.
• Coordinating with sales team and project managers to fulfill takeoffs and quote necessities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to self-manage multiple projects and work within deadlines
• Work in a team environment with sales team, engineers, designers and drafters on projects
• Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite & Project Management Software

Estimator

Structural and miscellaneous steel fabricating company is looking to add an Estimator to our team in bid estimating for the commercial construction industry.  Estimating would include doing materials takeoffs, putting shop labor and detailing labor estimates together and quoting materials required on a per job basis.  Willing to train on job for the right candidate.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience in steel, metal, or construction related field

·         Strong Math Skills

·         Ability to read Architectural and Civil design drawings(Preferred)

·         Well organized

·         Detail oriented

·         Dependable
